In person consultations are best if you cannot submit online, if you would like help with colour selection(s), design recommendations, and if we have access to the property to do a walk through. This appointment usually takes anywhere from 30-60 minutes. It’s best if everyone involved in the project’s decisions be present or available for the appointment.
Online e-Quotes are best if you don’t yet have access to the property, and/or if you can provide photos, measurements (example: Bedroom One 10ft long x 12ft wide x 8ft high) and a description of the areas you would like painted (example: 2 coats prep and paint ceiling, walls and trim, colour change). Online e-Quotes are speedy and a good starting point to get a general idea of cost. You can expect to have your detailed online e-Quote back to you within 3-5 business days or less. Project details will be finalized upon on site inspection and if there are any changes, they will be discussed and agreed upon together prior to beginning the project.
It never hurts to get other prices/recommendations to best plan a project. However, if you are getting multiple quotes please be sure to let us know and that you compare the scope of work, quality of products and details equally. Let us know your top painting priorities so that we can see if we are the best fit for the project and your needs. At the end of the day, we want to do a great job for a fair price and make the process as smooth as possible for everyone involved.
It depends. We recommend booking your quote roughly 6-12 weeks prior to the actual painting. This will increase the likelihood of planning your project around a schedule that works best for you, especially if you are coordinating other renovations.
It depends. Once we have completed your detailed quote we will let you know the timeline for the project.
Everything we do is brush and/or roll. We do not spray. Depending on the surface being painted or stained, the product(s) being used and the colour(s) being selected, we will provide you with our best recommendations for a beautiful long lasting finish.
After you’ve decided to make the investment of time and money to have the work performed correctly, don’t let the temptation of potential savings on material costs ruin the quality and longevity of your project. Not all paints are created equal. High quality paints utilize better ingredients and less fillers which equates to a longer-lasting paint job. Low quality exterior paints tend to chalk, fade, peel, and crack – whereas higher-end products will stay looking beautiful and protect your home for much longer; and are backed by a better manufacturer’s warranty. Low quality interior paints don’t cover as well – creating the potential to use more material to complete the job. If you’re someone who likes to keep their walls clean, low quality interior paints tend to scuff easily and not wash well, and they typically having a stronger odor that lingers in your home during the curing process, which can take as long as 30-days. If you want the best value for your money, don’t skimp on the paint quality. We primarily use top of the line paints from Dulux, Sherwin-Williams and The Home Depot. If you have a specific paint/stain you’d like us to use, please discuss this with us at the time of the quote.
Yes, most paints have an odor due to a higher V.O.C level (volatile organic compounds) which makes paint smelly. Nowadays there are paints that are ZERO VOC, so they are environmentally friendly, safe for women who are pregnant or anyone with environmental sensitivities.
Rarely. Most paints these days are a blend of latex or acrylic. Often we will use an oil conversion primer over existing old oil paint and then top coat with the new latex or acrylic paint.
Yes. Plus, for every project, all the colours and products used will be filed at the paint store under a “paint order” or “PO” name of the address of the project. That way if ever you need more, you know how to get it.
